The O&S Pool was founded by Reederei "NORD" and Bernhard Schulte in 1997 to combine the marketing and chartering of their container vessels within the 1.300 to 1.700 TEU size. The Pool commenced operations on 1st July 1997 with initially 13 vessels. Over the years other Owners joined and more vessels were added. Over the last twelve months many ships reached a certain age. Those ships were sold to new owners and have since left the pool. The pool now operates 14 vessels.
The O&S pool is managed by Bernhard Schulte out of Hamburg. The vessels are chartered to first class Liner Operators and trade worldwide. Over the 14 years of operation the O&S Pool has proven to ensure a more balanced income by sharing the risks of the usual market fluctuations. A balanced portfolio of charter contracts with longer and shorter durations enables the members to enjoy some security as well as also enables to participate in rising markets.
It is the long term strategy of the O&S Pool to grow further and other vessels/Owners are welcome to join.
